The solid black backing on this vintage Lucite hourglass is a key feature. This back black panel not only acts as a visual backdrop, but the contours of the floating glass bulb and the white sand “pop” vividly compared to standard all-clear models. This two tone bonding was a hallmark manufacturing method used by high-end plastic fabricators in Italy, France, and California during the 1970’s Space Age design movement. A highly sought after piece! A 3-minute timer, it stands 4” tall by 2” wide. Very slight wear on back of panel, overall great condition!
