You will get 15 grams of dried starter. We have had our starter going for over 10 years now. We started out with a strain called " Black Death". The Black Death sourdough starter is a live yeast culture that originated in southern Germany around the time of the Black Death (1633). It's named for the time period and the dark color of the bread it produces, which is made with dark rye flour.
