From a Virginia estate, I loved the look of this old mortar and pestle. It’s heavy - 7.9 pounds. And I believe the “lines” you’re seeing are from the mold when these pieces were made. It’s definitely been used so it has a nice primitive look to it. The mortar is 4 1/2” tall and the pestle is 6 1/2” long. Thanks for looking!
