The speed is adjustable from low to high starting with the number 10 going up to 20. When you push down on the red button with your thumb, the beaters do their thing until you release the button. The power cable is 6 feet long. There is an electrical tape wrapped patch in the middle of the power cord. It’s a very nice very small beater. It does a great job and is easy to clean up.
